Custom can mean a few different things when it comes to furniture. Sometimes a customer has seen something we’ve built and likes it, but wants a different size or color, or with a different species of wood. Another client may have an idea of what they are after and a certain look in mind, but needs someone to bring the details into focus. Other clients have already designed a piece of furniture, sometimes down to the very last detail, and are just looking for a craftsman that can bring it to life. We treat every project that comes our way, regardless of size, scope or budget, as a new challenge and an opportunity for us to create the perfect piece for that client.
We begin with sketches or drawings of the piece to ensure that everyone is on the same page. When everyone is satisfied with the design we move onto discuss options and make decisions about materials and hardware. When all the details have been agreed upon we will create a bid for the project so that everyone is clear on the cost before we begin production. Once production is under way, we invite clients to visit the shop and view their piece before the final finishing phase.
Purchasing a custom piece of furniture means you get exactly what you want, built to fit your space, your life and your taste. It means having a unique piece of furniture of the absolute highest quality that will last forever.
